Freshwater Drum
Appearance: Sometimes referred to as a Gaspargou, the Freshwater Drum has silvery sides and a darker back, deep body and blunt nose.

Size: Most Freshwater Drum are around 2 pounds, but the fish can get as large as 40 to 50 pounds.

Where it's found: Freshwater Drum are most often found in rivers, but are caught in several river-fed reservoirs as well.

What it eats: Freshwater Drum act as both scavangers and predators and eat a variety of small finfish and crustaceans.

Top lures & baits: Nightcrawlers and crawfish are the best bets for Freshwater Drum, although minnows, cut baits and, occassionally, artificial lures will also catch fish.

How it tastes: Freshwater Drum are 'okay' on the table, but not highly sought after.
