Whiting
Appearance: Whiting have a silvery overall appearance, with a coppery tint and darker streaks on the sides. It also sports small barbels under its chin
Size: Most Whiting taken by fishermen average about a pound, but larger fish are caught.
Where it's found: Whiting spend most of their lives roaming up and down the beachfront.
What it eats: Whiting like a variety of small crustaceans.
Top lures & baits: Sand fleas, shrimp and squid are best baits, although small jigs will catch some fish also.
How it tastes: Whiting are very good eating.
